Dr. Faizi Ahmed is a board-certified psychiatrist with fellowship training in neuropsychiatry. He was born and raised in Pennsylvania, attended medical school at Xavier University and completed his residency training in psychiatry at Temple University Hospital. He worked as a Assertive Community Treatment psychiatrist for one year at Horizon House, Inc. in Philadelphia where he made home visits to people with severe mental illnesses. He then joined a fellowship at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine where he completed a two-year training program in neuropsychiatry and behavioral neurology.
Dr. Ahmed specializes in treating the emotional, behavioral, and cognitive problems with occur after brain injury, including traumatic brain injury, stroke, and diseases of the nervous system. He also specializes in dementia, and has a particular interest in the holistic dementia care. Dr. Ahmed is an expert in drug interactions, a topic which he has been lecturing about since his residency training. He also has an interest in complementary and alternative treatments in psychiatry.
